Eksperimentālā kino festivāls “Process” aicina uz festivāla atklāšanas vakaru 21. maijā, Rīgā, Vagonu zālē! Tajā ar kino performanci uzstāsies šī gada Baltic Analog Lab (BAL) kino skolas dalībnieki kopā ar mūziķiem Darju Kazimiru (Latvija/Gruzija) un Zuru Makharadzi (Gruzija), kas pavadīs projekcijas ar šamanistiski eksperimentālu bungu dārdoņu un balsi.
Performancē tiks projicētas 16mm filmu cilpas, kas tapušas BAL skolas laikā Rīgā, “Baltic Analog Lab” laboratorijā, un Barselonā, neatkarīgajā kino laboratorijā “Crater Lab”. Iepazīstinot ar festivāla šī gada vadmotīvu, “Rēgu sanāksme”, skatītājiem būs iespēja pieredzēt arī vienu no senākajām projicēta kustīgā attēla formām, maģisko laternu. Šo tehniku īsi pirms festivāla BAL skolas dalībnieki apgūs kopā ar kustīgo attēlu mākslinieci Melisu Ferrari (ASV) un fotogrāfu Armandu Andži (Latvija).
Vakara izskaņā no plkst. 22.30 aicinām uz festivāla muzikālo vakaru kopā ar Oskaru Upenieku “Nurmes Taproom” bārā, kur mūziķis spēlēs ierakstus no analogā medija,1/4" platām magnetofona lentām, aptverot laika posmu no 1960. gadiem līdz mūsdienām.

Sestais analogajām praksēm veltītais eksperimentālā kino festivāls "Process" šogad norisināsies no 21. līdz 25. maijam Rīgā, Vagonu kvartālā, kā arī Baltic Analog Lab, piedāvājot filmu programmas, paplašinātā kino performances un citus notikumus.

Experimental Film Festival Process invites you to the festival opening on May 21 at Vagonu Hall. The festival will open with a live cinema performance by this year's BAL Film School participants together with musicians Darja Kazimira (Latvia / Georgia) and Zuru Makharadze (Georgia) who will accompany the projections with experimental shamanistic drumming and voice.
In the performance, 16mm film loops will be used that were made during the BAL school in Riga at Baltic Analog Lab and in Barcelona at the artist run film lab Crater Lab. Introducing this year's festival theme “Gathering of Ghosts”, the audience will also have the opportunity to experience one of the oldest forms of projected moving image – the magic lantern projection – which the students will learn together with moving image artist Melissa Ferrari (USA) and photographer Armands Andže (Latvia) shortly before the festival.
Starting from 22.30 we invite you to a DJ set by Oskars Upenieks at Nurmes Taproom Bar. He will play recordings from 1/4" tapes covering the period from the 1960s to the present day.

The sixth edition of Experimental Film Festival Process will take place in Riga from May 21 to 25 at Vagonu Quarter and Baltic Analog Lab. Dedicated to analog film practices, the programme consists of film screenings, expanded cinema performances and other events.
